VOLKS Appoints Kuniyoshi Shigeta as New President

VOLKS Inc. (headquartered in Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan; Representative Director and President: Kuniyoshi Shigeta), a company engaged in the planning, manufacturing, and retail sales of model kits and toy products, announces that Kuniyoshi Shigeta assumed the position of Representative Director and President effective October 19, 2026.

Since its founding in 1972, VOLKS has remained committed to its mission of “bringing happiness to customers through hobbies.” In 2027, the company will be celebrating its 55th anniversary.

This transition in leadership will guide VOLKS into a new era alongside its customers; while preserving the philosophy and culture that have been at the heart of the company since its founding.

VOLKS will continue to support each customer, contribute to the development of hobby culture, and enrich the lives of hobby enthusiasts.

Former President and Representative Director Setsu Shigeta will provide ongoing support to the management of VOLKS Group as an advisor following her retirement, helping to ensure a smooth transition to the new leadership.

Message from the New President - Kuniyoshi Shigeta

I am Kuniyoshi Shigeta, and I have assumed the position of President and Representative Director, succeeding Setsu Shigeta.

Since our founding in 1972, our company has pursued its mission of bringing happiness to our customers through hobbies. This journey has been supported by our customers, who love hobbies and understand the joy they bring, as well as by our business partners who share our vision.

I believe it is my responsibility to carry on the legacy we have built over the years and pass it on to the next generation together with our customers and business partners.
As we approach the significant milestone of our 55th anniversary, we hope to continue supporting each customer’s hobby life and remain a company that shares the joy and excitement that hobbies bring.

Although I still have much to learn, I am committed to devoting myself wholeheartedly to the growth and development of our company.
