• The SWS Bf 109 Series Takes Off with the Heavily Armed, High-Powered G-6 (Late)!

  The legendary Bf 109 was one of the most highly produced aircraft in history, and the G-series was the most extensively produced of its many variants, spawning a wide range of subtypes. Among them, the G-6 (Late) can be considered the culmination of the Bf 109’s evolution toward heavier armament and increased power.
  Based on extensive research of the actual aircraft and in-depth historical study, this SWS kit faithfully reproduces the distinctive details and differences of the various G-6 subtypes. The cowling-mounted MG 17 7.92 mm machine guns were replaced by MG 131 13 mm machine guns, necessitating a redesigned gun cowling with enlarged bulges to accommodate the ammunition ejection chutes.
  The aircraft was also equipped as standard with the MW 50 water-methanol injection system, allowing a temporary boost in engine power during takeoff, climb, and interception missions. With these upgrades, the Bf 109 G-6 evolved into a truly high-performance interceptor. One of the great pleasures of the SWS experience is that, as you build the model, you can also discover the fascinating story behind the aircraft’s development and evolution.
